I am
thrilled to share my thoughts on our afternoon of paint ball at Rose Hill
War Zone! We had a wonderful time! Here are some personal comments I have.
Our family loves to play together. We like sports; we like to be outside;
and we are VERY competitive. At the same time, though, I am a cautious Mom,
and safety is important to me. So, when talk among several of our friends
turned to paint ball, I was nervous and I knew I would be on-site with our
group when the games began.
Our experience from beginning to end at Rose Hill War Zone could not have
been any better. Our group ranged in ages from elementary-aged boys to my
middle school daughter, a high school boy and Moms and Dads in their 30s and
40s. It was clear from the beginning of our play time that safety would be a
priority. Our helmets were on whenever our guns were engaged, and we had two
"referees" with us at all times to not only ensure that we played fair, but
also that we played safe. It was also reassuring as a Mom to be with a staff
that was focused on us. There was no fussing and no cussing among the
employees - in fact, I think everyone, including the staff, had a genuinely
fun afternoon!
Sunday was my first-ever paint ball experience. The courses were cleverly
designed to allow our youngest participants to hide in safety without fear
of being hit by the opposing team, while at the same time allowing the
competitive older kids (including most of the Dads) to strategically take
out their opponents while driving forward to snatch the winning flag for a
team victory. My favorite course was the wild west area - complete with
tepees and a fort! Quickly we learned that being down low in that course was
the safest place to be.
The staff at the course related so well with all of us, giving the younger
kids pointers on strategy, and documenting our fun with lots of pictures. I
was pleasantly surprised to hear our referees refer to the kids individually
by name several times throughout our day. Everyone made us feel welcome from
start to finish. We will definitely be back for more adventures at Rose Hill
War Zone!
